 2007 is the second year to implement the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. It is also the critical year to go on the road of sustainable Development. The consumption of Unit GDP must reduce nearly 20% in 2010, We have a long way to go to reduce the main pollutant discharges 10%.
The Premier Wen Jiabao stressed once more in the government working report. In 2006, we didn’t achieve the goals to reduce the energy consumption 4% and reduce the major pollutants emissions 2%.This year, the local government must pay more attention about energy conservation and pollution emissions reduction.
Energy conservation and pollution emissions reduction are pulled forward by national policy and social demand. In addition to be promoted by local economic support and private capital, the developments of energy conservation and pollution emissions reduction need more financial institutions and private capital investment. Only in this way, we can guarantee "energy consumption industries" and insist sustainable development. Against this background we will hold "How does the financial industry promote our country to realize the goal of energy conservation and pollution emissions reduction targets seminar" in September 23-24th , 2007, in Beijing, China.
This seminar will focus on how to create an enabling environment for investment and financing to accelerate China's energy consumption and pollution emissions reduction industrialization process, achieve China's energy consumption and pollution emissions reduction targets; and Energy Saving investment and financing model discussion; by discussing the hot topics ,such as China's energy consumption industries faced challenges and opportunities in this field and China's energy consumption path of sustainable development - so as to achieve the financial industry on how to promote energy-saving industries healthy, rapid and orderly development, promote more private capital to participate in energy consumption and pollution emissions reduction industries. Then give the policy proposals to achieve China reduce 20% of the energy consumption goals.
We will invite the Chinese government and leaders in charge of energy, domestic and international financial institutions and well-known industry experts to have the amazing presentations. We will also introduce the energy-saving and pollution emissions-reducing technological innovation and cooperation in investment and financing opportunities. We want to provide a platform for the government, enterprises, research institutions to exchange the ideas by deep-seated explore the financial industry and capital energy consumption and pollution emissions reduction industries so as to promote China's energy consumption goal to truth.
